Brocanting and Bourges
June 29 - After hunting for treasures at two large flea markets near the city of Bourges, we can lunch in the medieval district of this beautiful city and then visit its 13th century cathedral which is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Chiner, chiens et Chambord
July 6 - The Chateau of Chambord is one of the most architecturally impressive chateaus in France. You will marvel at the intricacy of the slate roof, a feat of genius, as well as the double helix spiral staircase designed by Leonardo de Vinci. On the way, we will visit the annual flea market at the chateau of Cheverny and catch the 11:30 a.m. daily feeding of their 100 hunting hounds.

Medieval Music Festival
July 12 - Set in the forest on the grounds of a medieval chateau, concerts, dancing, food and unusual instruments await. Sellers and makers of hurdy gurdys, accordions, musettes, fiddles and flutes are aplenty and French folk dancing and singing go late into the night. It is a must experience. Set deep in the old Berry province, truly old France, where the 19th-century George Sand lived and wrote books about the life of the villagers, their legends and superstitions.

July 13 - Chateauroux - There is nothing more exciting than watching these incredible athletes wiz by towards the finish line, scrambling for the coveted yellow jersey.

Gardens and Chateau of Chenonceau
July 20 -If you are not tired of country French flea markets, there is one scheduled near the majestic Chateau de Chenonceau. Afterwards, we can spend the afternoon touring the grounds of this castle that spans the Cher river like Its history spans the centuries. It is one of the most refined chateaus in France and arguably in the world.

Tour of local villages
July 27 - We will take a drive and visit villages and attractions near out town of Le Blanc. One of them voted one one of the most beautiful villages in France, and one of them, called La Roche Posay is known around the world for its healing mineral water and skincare products.

Les Herolles
July 29 - Held on the 29th of each month since the 15th century, this is the marché to end all. It is one of the oldest and largest open air markets surrounded by three regions of France - the Centre Val de Loire, Limousin and Poitou-Charentes. You can buy your produce, wines, clothing or even a donkey here.

A modern day medieval construction site. It is a 3-hour day trip, but it is well worth it.

The Abbey of Fontgombault
A few kilometers from the manoir is the the 11th-century abbey of Fontgombault that is still an active Benedictine abbey. It is a restorative experience to take a 20 minute break, sit down in the cool stone cathedral and listen to the monks as they softly chant their afternoon vespers.

Saint Savin
Only 16 kilometers from the manoir is the Abbey of Saint Savin. The frescoes inside the church on the 17-meter high Romanesque barrel-vaulted ceiling recounts the story of the bible. This is a UNESCO world heritage site, and a must see.
